Expertise, competence, and what I do with them
Expertise is the ground I have walked: the industries, products and situations I know from the inside. Competence is what I have built on that ground: the deals that I structure, draft, negotiate and close.
The terrain: domains of expertise
Covid and influenza pandemic preparedness. Manufacturing network development and restructuring, by acquisition, collaboration or CMO. Product co-development, buy-out of product candidates, in-licensing of intellectual property. Commercial collaborations: co-marketing, co-promotion, licensing of commercial rights, joint ventures. Transfers of technology, for a product in development, a drug product or a drug substance. Corporate structure and strategic business development.
The instruments: domains of competence
M&A and divestitures. Equity deals. Strategic partnerships for development, commercialisation and manufacturing. Technology transfers. Licensing deals. Corporate strategy and entity creation. Fund raising.
What a mission is made of
A mission combines one or several of eight contributions: inorganic growth strategy, scouting and approaching partners, designing and running the project, due diligence on either side of the table, outlining and modelling the deal, drafting and negotiating terms that hold, running a competitive out-licensing process, and supporting the implementation once the agreement is signed.
